Imitation Series

Inspired by the work of 20th century American photographer, Imogen Cunningham, this series aims to bring focus upon the details of simple subject matter. For much of her career, Cunningham studied and photographed botanicals and the human figure. In my own photos, it became clear why this style of photography was so intriguing - by eliminating color and focusing in close with a subject, I began to see texture and light differently - appreciating the aesthetic beauty of everyday subject matter.
